Sandals are not recommended. You will be outside participating in physical activities that may get you dirty, so long pants or sweats are better suited than shorts because of the protection given your legs. Jewelry such as watches, rings, bracelets and necklaces are not recommended. Most activities take place in the shade of trees and participants are encouraged not to use sunglasses unless absolutely necessary. Dress for the weather! Bring rain gear and weather-resistant or extra shoes, just in case. Adventureworks courses use a mix of warm-ups, games, activities, and initiatives to take individuals out of their daily routine into challenges that call for cooperation, trust, problem solving, team building, and risk taking. Participants are assisted in assessing their personal styles, ideas, and strengths within the group context. Individual experiences and the transfer of learning from the day’s activity to work or other situations will be discussed. The level of participation in Adventureworks activities is at all times voluntary. Activities are offered within safe and realistic limits for all participants. The program is mentally, emotionally, and physically challenging; far more important than strength or fitness, however, is the willingness to try.

Thoughts to Ponder:
You will get the most out of your retreat experience if you at least attempt the activities of
which you are most unsure. Every step you take to challenge yourself will be rewarded with
a sense of personal accomplishment. Every participant should expect to face personal
challenges of some sort during the weekend–whether physical, emotional, mental, or social.
